Absolute banger. If you ever need a halloween pick-me-up in the form of a doom wad, this is it right here. Crimson Horror is a fantastic set of doom maps with an insane amount of polish. Every map is vibrant and richly detailed, and the soundtrack is 90% made up of some of Jimmy Paddock's finest work plus a handful of other tracks. There's a fantastic sense of flow between encounters, every single map is a joy to play through, and the great encounter design and awesome music give Crimson Horror a really solid sense of momentum. Once you sit down to start this wad you'll have a really hard time putting it down till you're finished. The custom voice acted lore tablets are a treat to listen to, and the simple but fun story gives neat context to your journey and adds a fun cheesy vibe to the whole thing. My only issues with it come from a weird number puzzle in Map 31 that I had no idea how I was meant to solve, and the final boss's BFG attack, which either does nothing or oneshots you out of nowhere with no real consistency, but it's still nowhere near as obnoxiously aggravating as Valiant's final boss.
