Considering the reputation I was readying myself for the worst but turns out TNT is pretty good! The maps are way more interestingly designed than in Doom 2 and make better use of the new additions. The maps are surprisingly detailed, and while not as dickish as plutonia's first half can be, there's still some pretty lethal sections to catch you off guard. There's a bit of a drop in quality in maps 18-26, but the final stretch brings it home nicely, and the first half is really solid. The music here is also leagues better than all of Doom 2's and 90% of Doom 1's which also helps a ton in keeping things feeling fun and fresh. TNT's biggest issue is mostly just how some maps can be REALLY obtuse with how you're meant to progress, I had to reference doomwiki several times to figure out what the hell I was supposed to do and where I was supposed to go. Also, shoutouts to having the best Map 30 of all 3 official Doom 2 campaigns!
