I'd still take it over Thy Flesh Consumed in a heartbeat but Sigil 2 is way less of a homerun knockout than Sigil 1 was. Map design is a lot more constrictive, tons of cacodemon spam, pretty limited ammo early on, heavy reliance on annoyingly hidden eye switches, and generally things don't flow as well as they did in Sigil 1. The maps still look visually fantastic, but it sacrifices the unique style Sigil 1 had in favor of just more detail, which leaves many of the maps looking a bit samey, just a ton of red rock and lava with the occasional techbase-y segments thrown in. The music also just doesn't vibe as hard as in Sigil 1 either, really only E6M1 and E6M9's tracks left any impression on me. The final boss this time around is also a massive pain since you just do NOT get enough ammo to do this without significant infighting thanks to the mastermind being given triple health for no fucking reason. I'm definitely still excited for whatever Romero cooks up next, but I doubt I'll be revisiting Sigil 2 anytime soon.
