A consistently solid megawad that's unfortunately a little bit too consistent. The first 15 maps are great, solid visual variety, good music, and decent design. Maps 16-25 are... not super great. By this point eviternity feels like it's running out of ideas, and chapters 4 and 5 feel like more of the same. Map 19 is especially bad, being 2 hours long for no reason and not doing anything to justify being that long. The secret maps are eh. Map 31 is decent but map 32 is a 3 hour long giga map that doesn't feel like it does much to justify its length, and is very confusing to navigate. But then the last 5 (almost) maps turn everything around. A fantastic final set of levels with some of the best visuals in the whole megawad, maps 26-29 are the absolute best of what eviternity has to offer. The final boss is, not great. He's got 15k HP, but he's also not that hard either, so the extra health just makes things drag out a bit too long. Overall eviternity is pretty decent, but the lacking middle section tanks my overall opinion of it pretty hard.
Addendum from a few days later: In hindsight I do kinda like map 32. I'm not a big fan of such huge levels but it is extremely well designed, and it's placement in the map 32 slot does justify it being so incomprehensibly huge. Its an insanely impressive work of art, and it does actually utilize its size very well. I may not want to replay it ever again, but I do respect it. Still not a fan of map 19 though, sorry StormCatcher77.
