I quit after finishing Episode 1 (I did play the secret map).
I can't with this thing. There's a few good things here, but a large majority of TPH just isn't it. The design goal here seems to be to make maps where you can't ever stop running, and tons of things have been altered to compensate. Your arsenal has been buffed a bit, but the same goes for the enemies, and your max ammo capacity is reduced a bit, as well as pickups giving you a little less. The weapon changes are fun, stronger melee, better pistol, the normal shotgun is almost as strong as the SSG, and the chaingun is super powerful, but the enemy changes are much worse. Imps are faster and constantly throw fireballs (like a worse version of valiant's super imps), arachnotrons shoot plasma twice as fast, and cacodemons move at lightspeed for no reason. You never have a chance to take cover and take out enemies a bit more cautiously, and enemies are too strong to make enclosed arena fights work. Enemy placement feels engineered to be really dickish too, lots of enemies on cliffs that rain down projectiles onto you, jumpscare chaingunners, arachnotron spam, cacodemons in any situation are worse to deal with thanks to their speed increase, and unnecessary damaging floor abuse. The homogenous design goal of each map makes episode 1 blend together quickly, and while the "don't stop, just run" map design can work, it usually doesn't, and a mapset exclusively filled with these kinds of maps gets old quick. I'd love to see a version of this without the enemy changes, but as it is now, it's just more frustrating than fun.
