WOW. Neon Overdrive came out of absolutely nowhere and ended up being insanely fantastically cool. The synthwave retro custom textures mixed in with some cyberspace themed sections create some of the most stunning doom maps I've seen in a while, and there's a lot of really creative locations, from arcades to the inside of a computer, sprawling museum-like megastructures and sunny beaches, Neon Overdrive has it all. The custom weapon sprites and sprinkling of new/altered enemies just adds to how fantastic it all is. It does get a bit slaughter-y near the end, but for the most part it's very manageable and still a lot of fun. You absolutely need to check this one out, I almost completely missed it and I'm INCREDIBLY glad I accidentally ran into it because I can easily see this being one of the best wads released this year.
